S.C. ENERGOMONTAJ S.A. MANAGEMENT POLICY IN THE FIELD OF SOCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY
One of S.C. ENERGOMONTAJ S.A priorities in order to carry out its development strategy is the satisfaction of own employees. Because the management wanted to prove that clients and beneficiaries must be satisfied without neglecting the rights, demands and expectations of employees, it took the decision to implement the social accountability management system, according to the requirements of SA 8000:2008.
Our company’s policy regarding social accountability is based on complying with the fundamental human rights (as presented in national and international regulations).
The social accountability policy is focused on fulfilling the following general objectives:
- to manage the business with fair play, honesty, integrity and respect towards all the interested parties;
- to appreciate each employee and act as a team, being involved and aware in understanding and observing the fundamental human rights;
- to identify, assess, manage and improve the aspects of our activities having impact on social accountability;
- to prevent the use of underage labor, to forbid and discourage the use of forced labor, the discrimination of any kind and abusive behavior, to improve the employees safety and health conditions and to ensure their freedom to collective negotiation and association;
- to observe the legislation regarding working and additional hours;
- to ensure a remuneration which covers and even exceeds the minimum necessities;
- to act in a spirit of humanity, encouraging the suppliers and subcontractors to involve and adopt the principles of social accountability and to develop programs intended to sustain these principles.
In order to put into practice the above mentioned objectives, S.C. ENERGOMONTAJ S.A. management pledges to:
- supply all necessary resources in order to implement and maintain properly the social accountability management system;
- to observe all the requirements of SA 8000:2008 and of national and international legislation or other requirements to which the organization subscribes;
- to analyze periodically the policy and performance of social accountability management system in order to ensure its continuous improvement, taking into consideration the change of legislation and the company’s demands;
- to ensure that the policy in the field of social accountability is implemented, maintained, communicated and accessible to all the personnel working for on its behalf;
- to use suppliers and subcontractors (and sub-suppliers, when needed) which observe the requirements of this standard;
- to authorize scheduled and unscheduled audits and to provide all reasonable information in order to prove the conformity to SA 8000:2008 requirements for certification;
- to make available the social accountability policy to all interested parties, when requested.
The entire company staff has the obligation to be actively engaged in the implementation of all commitments assumed under this policy.
